English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar Billiard (DR) (A2) (1964) (Replacement Stem)
Product Number: 004-002-19479
This vintage Billiard is a hearty, robust iteration from Dunhill, with the towering bowl boasting plenty of chamber capacity amid stout, insulating walls. The lengthy, albeit stocky, shank-and-stem arrangement act as a nice counterweight to the height of the bowl. This pipe is dressed in the English marque's renowned Root Briar finish, the highest honor for a Dunhill pipe and based on exemplary, blemish-free briar. It also carries the DR stamp, for Dead Root. A Dead Root pipe represents especially choice grain. This piece displays stunning, tight-knit flame grain, rising from heel to rim and is highlighted by a warm, auburn stain. Crafted in 1964, it does have a replacement stem.-Angela Robertson
