English Estates: Dunhill Bruyere 'Innertube' Patent (A) (113) (1926)
Product Number: 004-002-19644
Dunhill's proprietary inner tubes were once used as a way to keep the internals of a pipe clean before the widespread use of pipe cleaners. Designed to be disposable, the aluminum tubes could simply be replaced once becoming dirty. As such, it's incredibly rare to find pipes with an original inner tube, and this patent offering here lacks the metal tube. That being said, having been fashioned back in 1926, this lean, trim "113" Billiard is a gorgeous vintage find. It's handsomely dressed in the timeless hue of the marque's iconic Bruyere finish, which was introduced just 16 years before this pipe was crafted. It's still in very good condition for a pipe approaching 100 years in age and will surely please any Dunhill collector with its rarity and beautiful shaping.- Jeffery Sitts
