English Estates: James Upshall Smooth Dublin (P) (Replacement Stem)
Product Number: 004-002-28869
While much attention and devotion is paid to the great English marques and factories of yesteryear, it's easy to forget that there exists some fine British briars made by hand, like those by James Upshall. This particular Dublin is an incredibly robust, muscular take on the shape-chart standard, its towering bowl housing a generously deep chamber within. The thick chamber walls offer an abundance of reassuring insulation in hand, while the briar's natural grain is handsomely highlighted by a dark walnut stain. Condition-wise, it should be noted that this piece wears an acrylic replacement stem.
