A squat, broad-bottomed take on the Diplomat, this piece from Ashton really emphasizes the shape's low-slung visual weight by positioning the transition just a touch higher than the plane of the bowl's underside. Together with the relaxed, 1/8 bend to the shank and stem, it makes for quite an elegant silhouette overall — not to mention a plump, palm-filling feel in hand. It's presented here in the Achievement's pastoral contrast stain of smoky walnut and light brown shades and hues.
