English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (107) (F/T) (3) (R) (1968)

Product Number: 004-002-29099

Presented in Group 3 size, this vintage "07" Apple from Dunhill is truly a testament to the marque's extraordinary shaping and finishing skills. The plump, fairly tall bowl boasts a chamfered rim and is paired to a round shank that continues that muscularity and topped by an elegantly tapered mouthpiece, with the proportions handsomely balanced. This charming pipe is more than 50-years old, yet retains a lively show of flame grain on its left flank, with birdseye seen on the right with the stummel wearing a warm, auburn stain for further traditional appeal.

The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative. -Angela Robertson
