English Estates: Ashton Old Church Liverpool (XXX) (2010)
Product Number: 004-002-29497
Ashton never disappoints when it comes to well-crafted English classics as this robust Liverpool can attest, the tall bowl boldly proportioned while the stem gradually tapers to the lip button. Finished here in the warm, tan-toned Old Church series, the well-executed sandblast has brought out an impressive display of blasted birdseye around the towering bowl and is one of the craggiest blasts I've encountered on an Ashton pipe. The stummel's warm hue is beautifully contrasted by the jet-black acrylic mouthpiece, the latter abbreviated for a more pocket-friendly profile. If you're a fan of traditional shapes or desire a pipe with an abundance of rugged texture, this piece may be irresistible.- Jeffery Sitts
