English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar Collector Bent Brandy (HT) (1991)
Product Number: 004-002-29617
The beauty of Dunhill's bent Brandy is not just in the iconic shape of its bowl, but in the flowing elegance the shape generates. The gentle tapering from the rim of the bowl cascades into a plump base, creating a lightweight, voluptuous feeling in hand. The shank flares upwards at a slight angle, meeting a black saddle stem that bends downward at almost exactly the same height as the rim of the bowl, creating a sleek fluidity in profile that is perfectly balanced. Finished in the beautiful Root Briar finish, the flame grain sweeps across the stummel in darkened amber hues that accentuate the pipe's robust shape. This vintage piece from 1991 is sure to transfix and captivate the right pipe smoker for years to come.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.--Davin Hylton
