English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (411) (1976) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-29843
A fairly muscular straight Apple shape, this Dunhill Root Briar cuts a bold silhouette, with a bit more uprightness to the bowl than is typically expected from the form. There's a soft inclination to the shaping up front too, with a sense of gentle inflation to the rim. Dressed here in a warm application of the Root Briar finish, it boasts some handsome cross grain, with abundant birdseye on the flanks.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
