This Bulldog offers the stylish palette and classic English shaping for which Ashton is known. The muscular bowl features the form's characteristic beadlines just below the tapered rim, while the heel is lent a touch of architectural firmness by the firm lines of the diamond shank that extend through the transition. The distinctive shaping of the shank continues through the shoulders of the saddle stem for a sense of consistency across most of the composition, before the mouthpiece swiftly reduces to a slender bit. The stummel wears the dark, craggy Pebble Grain sandblast that reveals plenty of rippling growth rings across the briar's surface.
