English Estates: Dunhill County Quaint Rhodesian (4) (2011)

Product Number: 004-002-30497

Dunhill's Quaint series is a line of pipes that deviate from the English marque's standard shape chart. The designs are often distinctive as well as highly collectable. This Group 4-sized Rhodesian is one such design, and it's a lithely bent rendition of the shape. A subtle ridgeline sits high on the tall bowl's waistline, just below the tapered rim, while the sturdy shank tapers gradually towards the arcing mouthpiece of brindled vulcanite. The stummel wears the rugged County sandblast, which showcases some dense fields of calcified birdseye on the flank and fore of the bowl.

Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
