English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (591) (F/T) (4) (R) (1969) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-30675

A classic, deeply bent Oom Paul (or "Hungarian" as Dunhill likes to call them), this "591" from 1969 is the perfect piece for those looking for a wealth of chamber and easy jaw-hanging. With a tall, cylindrical, Group 4 bowl, it reminds me of a Poker but with the tight-knight transition and upward flicking shank making for a sinuous S-curve. A well-balanced piece, it's dressed in the marque's warm, grain-defining, Root Briar finish and is ready for a spot in a collection of English classics.

The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
