A vintage piece of English craftsmanship, this Pot was fashioned prior to 1960, during Barling's Pre-Transition period, when the Barling family still controlled production of their pipes. It's a classic interpretation of the shape-chart standard, with a stout, muscular bowl standing proudly at the fore of a sleek, arrow-straight stretch of shank and stem. The design is lightweight in hand and streamlined in profile, the overall proportions on display well-balanced. It's dressed in a warm, smoky smooth finish that reveals constellations of bridseye on either flank of the bowl. Perhaps the most striking thing about this piece is the fact that it remains unsmoked.
