Subtly muscular in form, this Rhodesian from English marque Ben Wade displays a softer kind of bowl than is expected from an Anglo-French rendition of the profile. Said bowl sits atop a rounded heel which adds a touch of playfulness to the composition, and flares to a slightly firm ridgeline at the waist, then taking on a taper to the rim. The transition is more than wide enough to accept a thumb, while the shank takes on a gentle taper through to the stem base. Dressing this piece is a warm mahogany stain that unveils some handsome grain throughout the stummel, working well with the black saddle stem to foster a classic look.
