English Estates: Dunhill Amber Root Quaint Bent Dublin with Silver (3) (2017) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-31758
Dunhill's Quaint pipes aren't found on their standard pipe chart as they're more individualized of design. This Group 3 bent Dublin is such a pipe, its forward-leaning, tall bowl imbued with a softly inflated rim along with the traditional form's firm heel. It's poised at the end of a trim, oval shank that extends from a low-set transition, which also serves to accentuate the height of the bowl. It's topped by a rather Prince-like, elegant downturn of vulcanite stem at the bit, making for a distinguished, lithe profile. This piece is dressed in the warm tones of the Amber Root finish, displaying some handsome grain definition and is further accentuated by a gleaming silver ring. A quite collectable pipe, it remains unsmoked.
One of Dunhill's more recent finishes, the Amber Root was introduced in 1995. Like the Root Briar, it showcases a smooth stain, accentuating the briar's natural grain in traditional style. Typically auburn-hued, the Amber Root is often a touch darker in color than that of the Root Briar, pairing handsomely with the jet-black stem for an aesthetic that combines the grain definition of the Root Briar finish with the darker, smokier tones of the Bruyere.
