English Estates: James Upshall Smooth Fluted Bent Billiard (Special 1989) (HC) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-31814
James Upshall's pipes tend to gravitate to the larger end of the size spectrum, and this bent Billiard from 1989 is no different, as it boasts a tall, palm-filling bowl that houses a considerable chamber capacity within its thick insulating walls. The shank-and-stem arrangement that climbs out back matches the robust build of the bowl and provides a nice sense of balance to the composition, as well as a comfortable smoking posture. The bowl has been carved in a stunning spiral motif that wraps the briar in flutting channels and sharp ridgeline, providing a unique spectacle for the eyes and fingers to enjoy. A warm, traditional smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights fine strands of flame grain as they reach toward a broad rim populated with birdseye. Presented unsmoked.
