English Estates: Dunhill Bruyere (2407) (2012) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-31913
A playfully plump Prince, this rendition of the "07"from Dunhill gives an organic flare to its diminutive Group 2 sized bowl. While the shaping departs from the English marque's pure Prince, the proportions are staunchly traditional, with the bowl and shank in perfect balance. The straight shank transitions to an elongated stem of black vulcanite, comfortably bent. Dressed in Dunhill's Bruyere finish, the stummel displays touches of flame grain for added visual interest.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.-Gabriel Bass
