English Estates: Ashton Brindle Tomato (LX) (2020) Tobacco Pipe

A more whimsical and exaggerated take on the Tomato, this piece from Ashton features a bottom-heavy, pronounced base, with some rather soft curves all around. It's also among the workshop's largest pieces, having earned an "LX" stamp, and features robust proportions throughout. The transition is also a touch higher set than you'd typically find, making that extra plump bowl stand out even more. It's finished in the Brindle line's crisp, dark sandblast, pairing the stummel's dark, ruby-tinged stain with a finely patterned cumberland mouthpiece that attaches to the shank via a black vulcanite mount.
