English Estates: Dunhill Collector County Alphorn (with Case) (HT) (XL) (2017) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-32913
Dunhill's Collector series, like their Quaint series, presents pipes that deviate from the English marque's standardized shape chart. Each Collector pipe features a hand-turned bowl and showcases the more creative side of Dunhill's shaping aesthetic. This particular Collector offering is modeled after the Alphorn, a long horn instrument that originated in the Alpine mountains. Presented in XL-size, this piece measures over 13 inches long and boasts a bowl over two inches tall. Shape-wise, it features a tall, forward-canted bowl that tapers into a downturned shank and a long, sinuously bent Churchwarden stem. The rustic County sandblast dresses the stummel and brilliantly highlights the briar's natural grain, its earthy complexion complemented by the cumberland stem's ruby hues. Unsmoked.
Like the Cumberland finish, Dunhill's County line pairs rich, cumberland stems with delightfully textured sandblasts. Typically, County pieces wear a lighter stain, often falling between the Cumberland and Tanshell hues, and since its introduction in 1986, with only a brief hiatus, the County remains stalwart within Dunhill's portfolio, especially desired by lovers of brindled vulcanite and warm sandblasts.
