English Estates: Ashton Pebble Grain Fluted Cherrywood (LX) (2001) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-33058
This is quite the unique piece from English workshop Ashton, a Cherrywood from 2001 that features a striking bit of styling at the bowl. Said styling comes in the form of four fluting channels that descend through the diagonal vertices of the walls, creating an extremely unique feel in hand and keeping the profile looking firm, with sharp angles and a quartet of peaks at the rim. This rim, too, is striking, as it slopes evenly into its midsection from all sides, ensuring that the bowl remains the focal point of the composition. Sitting on a flattened heel and resting on the button, the bowl is paired to a robust stretch of shank and saddle-oriented vulcanite, lending a comfortable smoking posture and maintaining the musculature of the piece quite well. Dressed in the crisp sandblast and deep stain of the Pebble Grain series, this hearty, LX-sized pipe showcases rippling growth rings cascading down the bowl and maintains plenty of lovely texture throughout.
