English Estates: Dunhill Chestnut (5112) (2002) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-33660

Two iterations of the Stack shape are both designated "12" on Dunhill's shape chart: One is the English marque's iconic "Windshield" pipe, essentially a Stack with the fore side of the rim raised to block oncoming wind, and the other version is this more traditionally inclined Stack, with the rim uniformly flat in classic style. This particular Group 5 example features a rather stout shank, fitting with the bowl's tall, deep-chambered nature, and it wears the consistent, namesake color palette of the Chestnut series.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
