This shapely "02" bent Billiard by Dunhill lives up to its Group 5 size, with a meaty, hand-filling bowl. A cumberland saddle stem, one of Dunhill's specialties, plays off the Chestnut finish, as the brindled pattern runs perpendicular to defined stripes of vertical grain flowing along the sides of the wide, rounded shank.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
