English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (LB) (4) (R) (1967) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-36693

Not only do vintage Dunhills like this one exemplify classic English shaping cues, they are a collector's dream and should appeal to anyone with a soft spot for traditional shapes. Here we see the legendary marque's timeless rendition of the straight Billiard, featuring a pert bowl at the fore of a balanced round shank and tapered vulcanite stem. This particular piece is one of the White Spot's "LB" renditions of the shape: Standing for "Large Billiard," this pipe lives up to its name through its thick shank and stem combination and hearty bowl. Dressed in the Root Briar finish, the stummel boasts excellent birdseye at the flanks, with tight cross grain at the fore and aft.

The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
