English Estates: Dunhill Chestnut (4203) (2018) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-36697
Many consider Dunhill's thoroughly traditional and classic "03" to be the archetypal straight Billiard from which all others are adapted. This Group 4 rendition pairs the full-bodied, poised bowl with an elegantly rendered saddle stem of vulcanite, which is hand-cut for supreme comfort. Its refinement is further accentuated by the smoldering Chestnut finish, resulting in a briar that exudes a gentrified sophistication.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
