English Estates: Dunhill Chestnut Stubby (4407) (2016) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-34032
Dunhill's "Stubby" series offers the English firm's classic shapes in compact and muscular dimensions. At less than five inches in total length, this "07" Prince is perfect for on-the-go smoking, especially when considering its elegantly bent stem. Just like a full-sized Prince, this Group 4 rendition boasts a plump, Apple-like bowl that stands at the fore of a subtly upturned shank and a steeply curved mouthpiece, the latter of which offsets the bowl's stoutness a touch in profile. It's presented here in the reserved yet stylish Chestnut smooth finish, which highlights some lively grain throughout the stummel.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
