A historic English marque founded in 1868, Charatan were highly respected for their high-quality work in classic English style, with a penchant for more whimsical stylings in certain pieces. This "91X" Dublin is a fine example of Charatan's style, featuring a tall, thick-walled bowl with a subtle taper which rests on a jutting heel at the fore of a slim round shank and tapered vulcanite stem. Dressed in a rich walnut finish, the stummel boats fine birdseye at fore and aft, with tight cross grain at the flanks.
