English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar Bent Billiard (DR) (*) (1995) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-34356

Dunhill's Dead Root designation is reserved for Root Briar-finished pipes that display exceptionally noteworthy grain patterns and are extremely rare compared to the marque's normal fare, making them highly collectible and desirable. This bent Billiard from the legendary marque is certainly deserving of that distinction and the prestigious star stamp it received, since there's no shortage of breathtaking grain here. Streaks of vertical grain dance around the bowl while birdseye populates the rim and heel. Deeply bent, with a high-kicking shank and well bent saddle stem, this 1995 iteration displays a wealth of verticality and promises excellent jaw-hanging.

The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
