English Estates: Orlik Supreme Smooth Lovat (T36) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-38988
Originally popular for their pipe tobacco products, Orlik was founded in 1899 by Louis L. Orlik. The company eventually became known for producing high-quality briar pipes for reasonable prices. It wasn't until almost 100 years later in 1980 when the Cadogan group bought Orlik and moved production to a factory in Southend-on-Sea where their pipes are still made today.
This "T36" Lovat from Orlik is an archetypal rendering of the well-loved shape. The pipe is lightweight, with the rounded shank and abbreviated saddle stem taking up the majority of the visual weight. Up front, the bowl sits upright as its walls rise from a firm heel to a flat rim. Dressed in a smooth finish, the stummel showcases rich grain throughout.
