While not exactly compact, this "Extraordinaire" straight Bulldog from renowned English marque Comoy's maintains a svelte sense of proportion and a sleek aft end that makes for a graceful composition overall. The shank and stem base are diamond-ridged, as per the standards of this shape, and the ridgelines they begin flow toward the bowl, the flanks and transition lines disappearing fairly quickly, while the line on the heel visually persists through the profile, though it dissipates through the waistline. The bowl is fairly tall, with a single, soft ridgeline around the flared portion, tapering from there toward the rim. Dressed in a dark sandblast, the stummel showcases handsome blasted birdseye on both flanks, with growth rings rippling out across parts of the surface, all stained a handsome dark chestnut.
