English Estates: Dunhill Bruyere (4110) (2019) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-34964
This "10" Liverpool from Dunhill is a handsome rendition of the classic shape, presenting a tall, full-bodied bowl that stands at the fore of a lengthy round shank and a protracted tapered stem. This Group 4 sized piece offers plenty of substance for the fingers to grasp, but it retains a fairly streamlined profile thanks to the low-set shank-and-stem arrangement. Dressed in the smoky Bruyere smooth finish, the stummel displays a fetching showing of grain around the flanks of the bowl.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.--Davin Hylton
