English Estates: Dunhill Bruyere (1103) (2022) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-34965
Perhaps no shape in the pipe making world is more iconic than Dunhill's legendary "03" Billiard. Possessed of a supple bowl and arrow-straight shank and stem, the profile of the "03" is as elegant as it is traditional. Furthermore, the perfect proportions superbly balance the composition, an indicator of why the Billiard shape is so timeless. This particular "03" is rendered in lightweight Group 1 size and is dressed in Dunhill's Bruyere finish.
The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.--Zach Podl
