English Estates: GBD Pedigree Billiard (9489) (pre-1980) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-35350

Originally from St. Claude France, GBD was one of the first pipe makers to craft pipes from briar. Despite their French origins, GBD moved to London at the turn of the 20th century, and is predominantly known as a British marque. This "9489" Billiard by GBD pairs a supple bowl to a geometric shank-and-stem arrangement. The upright bowl features a plump heel and a gentle taper to a trim rim, while the shank and stem are rectangular, giving this pipe an excellent contrast between the fore and aft. Moreover, the stummel is dressed in a vibrant auburn finish, which highlights sweeping flame grain along the shank and bowl. Additionally, the rectangular shank makes this pipe a stable Sitter.
