English Estates: Orlik De Luxe Sandblasted Billiard (LIX23) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-36845
Originally popular for their pipe tobacco products, Orlik was founded in 1899 by Louis L. Orlik. The company eventually became known for producing high-quality briar pipes for reasonable prices. It wasn't until almost 100 years later in 1980 when the Cadogan group bought Orlik and moved production to a factory in Southend-on-Sea where their pipes are still made today.
In this "LIX23" Billiard from Orlik, the muscular bowl stands upright from a firm heel. The sturdy walls rise to a flat rim that looks into a chamber with ample room to fill your favorite tobacco. From the transition a slender shank meets a black vulcanite stem that continuously tapers toward the bit. Up front, the stummel wears an earthy sandblast displaying the rich mixed grain of the briar.
