English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (ODA) (806) (F/T) (1985) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-35560
As part of Dunhill's "800" series, this vintage "806" Apple boasts a heftier-than-average build while still retaining the refined proportions that have come to define the marque. The bowl stands tall and firm, with smooth, supple walls reaching up from the heel and curving towards the rim, creating a plump figure that fills the hand comfortably. A sturdy, muscular shank transitions from the bowl and meets a tapered stem of jet-black vulcanite. Dunhill's illustrious Root Briar finish dresses the stummel in a warm, auburn stain that reveals lovely birdseye across the right flank
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
