English Estates: Charatan's Make Selected Dublin (FH) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-36762

Founded by Fredrick Charatan in 1863, the Charatan brand is most famously known as the first company to entirely hand-make briar pipes from the block to the finished product. The term "Charatan's Make" refers to the method of assembly that differentiated Charatan pipes from the rest of the world. Many Charatan pipes go against the grain when it comes to traditional English pipe archetypes, offering more dynamic designs than you'll find in other classic shape charts.

This "FH" Dublin from Charatan adds a pop of flare to the traditional silhouette. Beginning at the bowl, the tall walls rise high above the heel, creating a bowl-centric silhouette. Upon reaching the rim, the smooth briar becomes craggy and asymmetrical, giving way to patches of plateau. While the sharp edges of the plateau have been smoothed down, the uneven rim still gives an air of ruggedness to an otherwise sleek pipe. Out back, a long rounded shank extends toward a tapering stem made of black vulcanite. The dark coloring along the stem pairs perfectly with the rich chestnut stain across the stummel, which boasts fine flame grain rising from the heel all the way up the walls of the bowl.
