English Estates: Dunhill Chestnut (4103) (2013) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-36829
Rendered in Group 4 size, this "03" epitomizes the classic Dunhill Billiard with its well-measured build. The bowl stands firm and upright, with straight walls reaching from the heel towards the rim. Transitioning from the bowl is a proportionally balanced shank that joins to a cumberland stem, which tapers easily toward the bit. Pairing with the cumberland's swirling hues is Dunhill's rich Chestnut finish dressing the stummel, revealing hints of birdseye on both flanks.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
