English Estates: Charatan's Make Executive Acorn (City of London) (Extra Large) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-37016

Founded by Fredrick Charatan in 1863, the Charatan brand is most famously known as the first company to entirely hand-make briar pipes from the block to the finished product. The term "Charatan's Make" refers to the method of assembly that differentiated Charatan pipes from the rest of the world. Many Charatan pipes go against the grain when it comes to traditional English pipe archetypes, offering more dynamic designs than you'll find in other classic shape charts.

This Acorn from Charatan's Executive line is a unique take on the already distinctive shape. The bowl is the focal point of this pipe with its pointed heel aiming toward the fore. From the heel, the walls begin to flare as they reach the wide rim covered in plateau, providing ample texture to enjoy. Nestled within the bowl is a capacious tobacco chamber, ideal for leisurely and lengthy smoking sessions. A broad transition gives way to a rounded shank that extends a few inches toward the shoulders of a vulcanite, double-comfort saddle stem. The inky pigment of the mouthpiece is a nice companion to the mahogany-stained stummel, showcasing handsome vertical grain throughout.
