English Estates: James Upshall Smooth Bent Pot (P) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-39941
In keeping with James Upshall's usual style, this bent Pot is a robust, atypical rendition of the shape-chart standard, offering a silhouette akin to those found in the Italian neoclassical tradition. Such shaping lends the bowl most of the visual weight within the composition, its muscular frame and thick, insulating walls overshadowing the comparatively lithe and demurely curved shank-and-stem arrangement that stretches out back. Said bowl offers a solid in-hand presence, while the shank-and-stem arrangement promotes a comfortable smoking posture. Dressing this piece is a smoky smooth finish that highlights striking grain throughout the stummel.
