English Estates: Ashton Ebony Bent Billiard with Silver (XXX) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-37226
Ashton's Ebony finish pairs a stark, jet-black sandblast with a black stem and silver fitment at the junction, as pipes in this line are very seldom seen without either, in something of a more rugged Dress look that is both elegant and rustic. Here we see the finish dressing a sinuously bent Billiard, a shape that we've seen before, though seldom curved to this degree. The shank reaches high out of a tightly-knit transition, coming in line with the rim and meeting a wedding-band-like ring of silver at the junction to a poised saddle stem. The bowl rises up from a lifted heel, the underside of the transitional area lent a bit more firmness to accommodate for the heel's slight upturn, and tapers gently to the rim, making for a comfortable feel in hand and a timeless silhouette.
