English Estates: The Everyman Sandblasted Billiard (332) (by Comoy's) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-37248
Progressing from boxwood to briar, the history of Comoy's pipe making is characterized by its strong familial ties. The marque's founder, Henri Comoy, took after his father Francois, who started fashioning pipes with his brothers in Saint Claude out of more rudimentary materials until he and his son Louis discovered the benefits of briar. In 1879, Henri brought his skills to London, where he set up a factory and served as a key figure in English pipe-making while working alongside his sons and nephews. Made for Comoy's sub-brand, The Everyman, this "332" Billiard is a thoroughly classic take on the form. The bowl stands pert and upright, formed by straight walls reaching from heel to rim. A balanced shank transitions from the bowl and joins to a tapered stem, adding a touch more length to the composition for a sleek profile. The stummel wears a dark, rugged sandblast for a stimulating presence in hand.
