English Estates: Barling Smooth Lumberman (4579) (T.V.F.) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-37461
Barling is a marque with an extensive history, its founding dating back to 1812. With a background in silversmithing, the marque's founder, Benjamin Barling, began by fashioning silver mounts for meerschaum bowls, and they would eventually start creating their own pipes in 1906. By 1960, the marque would be purchased by Finley and would continue to change ownership over the next few decades. Kopp Pipes would gain the rights in 2020, and they continue to carry on the Barling name. A refined, traditional take on the form, this Lumberman from Barling sees a pert Billiard bowl posed at the fore of a protracted oval shank and abbreviated saddle stem, the arrangement pairing with an overall light weight to offer a comfortable clench. The stummel wears a smooth chestnut finish that reveals windswept vertical grain across the right flank and pepperings of birdseye along the left.
