English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar Patent (N75) (1) (R) (1954) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-37403

Dated to 1954, this Billiard from Dunhill is among their highly sought-after patent era pipes. A diminutive Group 1 offering, this piece measures under five inches in length, which pairs with an overall light weight to make for a comfortable on-the-go smoker. A pert, petite bowl is positioned upfront, with supple walls curving gently from heel to rim. Bringing up the rear is a slender, arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement that keeps the composition streamlined in profile. Dunhill's illustrious Root Briar finish dresses the stummel in a warm, rich stain that highlights fine cross grain on both of the bowl's flanks.

The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
