English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (56) (F/T) (4) (R) (1968) (Aftermarket Cosmetic Band) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-37520
Dated to 1968, this "56" bent Billiard from Dunhill is rendered in Group 4 size, making for a classic, timeless rendition of the form. It features a tall, upright bowl formed by smooth walls curving slightly from the rounded heel toward the flat rim. The bowl joins to an upturned shank and smartly bent saddle stem, the arrangement offering a comfortable jaw-hanging posture. For a dose of flash, the junction is adorned with a metallic aftermarket band. Dressed in Dunhill's illustrious Root Briar finish, the stummel displays handsome grain beneath a rich stain.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
