English Estates: Dunhill Chestnut with Silver Army Mount (4102) (2009) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-37692

A well-measured Group 4 offering, this "02" bent Billiard from Dunhill is a handsome showcase of the English marque's refined shaping style. It features a pert, upright bowl formed by supple walls traveling from heel to rim. Joined to the bowl out back is a balanced, upturned shank fashioned with a silver military mount, which adds both a dose of flash to the design and allows this piece to be easily broken down. From there, the mount accepts a smartly bent tapered stem, which pairs with the shank to offer a comfortable jaw-hanging posture. The stem dark complexion complements the stummel, which wears Dunhill's Chesnut smooth finish.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
