English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar Bent Chimney (DR***) (2023) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-37612
While not stamped as such, this pipe closely resembled the "12" Chimney/Stack from Dunhill. Up front, this piece presents the traditional form's tall, cylindrical bowl. A low-set transition accentuates the bowl's height, with the lengthy shank-and-stem arrangement notable for its gestural, Prince-like bend, rising gradually and turning down abruptly at the bit. Displaying a graceful, elegant silhouette, this lightweight pipe is dressed in a honey-hued stain of the Root Briar finish. An exceptionally rare piece, this Root Briar has received the coveted Dead Root designation, with a grade of three stars to indicate the impeccable briar.
The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
