English Estates: Sasieni Royal Stuart Billiard (17) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-38039
Founded in 1919, the Sasieni brand was built on hard work and determination. Beginning his career as an apprentice at Charatan, Sasieni's founder, Joel Sasieni, also rose in the ranks at Dunhill before venturing off to create his own pipes. Even when his factory burned down, Joel was quick to rebuild and continue his production of high-quality pipes. More than 30 years after Joel's death, his son Alfred continued to run the company with the same philosophies and passions as his father. The brand remained in the family until the late 1970's when it was eventually sold to another firm.
Representing perhaps the most well-known and adored English shape, this "17" Billiard from Sasieni is an ideal option for fans of classic pipes. Providing ample room to grasp the fore, the walls of the bowl rise in the traditional cylindrical fashion before meeting the flat rim. Out back, a rounded shank extends before finding the tapered vulcanite stem, whose inky pigment complements the rich stain along the stummel. Patches of birdseye on the bowl capture the eye, with handsome whorls across the left and right flanks.
