English Estates: Dunhill Chestnut Quaint Chruchwarden (3) (2019) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-38061
Similar to the Collector line, Dunhill's Quaint series is an assemblage of pipes that fall outside of the English marque's standard shape chart. Displayed here in Group 3 sizing, this Churchwarden from Dunhill remains remarkably lightweight despite its length. Extending the reach of this pipe to nearly ten inches, the shank-and-stem combination exhibits classic Churchwarden proportions as it bends and tapers to the button. Up front, the Dublin-like bowl flares from a firm heel to a flat rim that looks into a respectable tobacco chamber. Dressed in Dunhill's Chestnut finish, this pipe displays an elegant and overall sophisticated aesthetic.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
