English Estates: Dunhill Root Briar (142) (F/T) (4) (R) (1963) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-38013

Dated to 1963, this vintage "142" boasts a tall, upright bowl that's posed at the fore of a sleek stretch of shank and stem. The proportions here are well-balanced, with the bowl, shank, and stem all contributing equally to the pipe's sleek and elegant profile. The fetching Root Briar smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights some fine strands of flame grain across the flanks of the bowl.

The highest honor for a Dunhill pipe is to receive the prestigious Root Briar appellation. Root Briars have been coveted by pipe smokers ever since they first debuted in 1931, due to the fact that each pipe must boast briar completely free of even the most minor of blemishes. Dunhill has the strictest of standards and expectations for quality with all of their pipes, and so any block of briar that comes to bear the Root Briar stamp must indeed be superlative.
