English Estates: Loewe & Co. Standard 'Brazilian' Smooth Billiard (1956-1968) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 004-002-37977

Founded by Emil Loewe in 1856 in London, Loewe & Co. was known for their spigot mounts and has been credited by some as the first English brand to use briar pipes. Throughout the years, the ownership of Loewe & Co. passed through several hands, including Civic and eventually Cadogan. Dated between 1956 and 1968, this Brazilian is one of their Billiard shapes, and is a lightweight option perfect for taking your smoke on the go. The scaled-down bowl up front is less than half the size of the pencil-thin shank-and-stem combination that continuously tapers to the button. The aforementioned bowl sits on a rounded heel, the walls rising before quickly meeting a flat rim that looks into a compact tobacco chamber, ideal for a short and satisfying smoke. The dark stain across the stummel pairs nicely with the jet-black vulcanite out back.
