English Estates: Marshall Field & Company Field Select Smooth Bent Billiard (42) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 004-002-37782
Initially founded in 1852, Marshall Field & Company was formerly an upscale department store in Chicago, Illinois, one that grew to such prominence that it was designated as a city landmark in 2005. The company would change through a series of hands starting with their acquisition by British American Tobacco in 1982, undergoing several other acquisitions before being bought by Macy's, Inc., who would convert the store into one of their own in 2006. Seen here is a piece bearing Marshall Field & Company's iconic logo: a classic bent Billiard. The composition sees a pert, upright bowl positioned at the fore of a high-kicking shank and smartly bent tapered stem, the arrangement promoting a comfortable jaw-hanging posture. A warm, smooth finish dresses the stummel, highlighting windswept vertical grain across the left flank.
