One of America's oldest and most respected names in the pipe and tobacco industry, Wally Frank began operations in New York City in the 1930's. The company offered several private-label pipes crafted by makers at Charatan, Sasieni, and Weber, as well as owned the Pioneer brand of meerschaum pipes.
This "28" Apple from Wally Frank pays homage to the classic silhouette. Up front, the plump walls of the bowl rise from a curvaceous heel to a rounded rim. The bowl is home to a compact tobacco chamber, ideal for short and satisfying smoking sessions. From the transition, the sturdy shank-and-stem combination begins its gradual taper toward the bit. The black vulcanite out back is the perfect partner to the rich stain across the stummel.
